Knox County TNCEP Agent and Program Assistant teamed up with Community Schools and a local church to teach a series of nutrition education classes and health initiatives. Initially aimed at church members, programs expanded to food pantry nights, reaching more community members.
The community expressed gratitude for the educational classes and knowledge gained with one person reporting “I got lots of great recipes and very helpful information on seasonings and ways to cook vegetables. The class also helped me to think about saving money at the store too.” The program’s impact continues to expand with plans to implement an exercise program in the future.
