Eat healthy on a budget
  • Children are more likely to eat healthy snacks when they are easy to see and reach.
  • Pack snack bags of trail mix in lunchboxes and backpacks.
Be food safe
  • Store dry foods in a cool, dry place so they will stay fresh.
  • Close packages tightly to keep out moisture and insects.
  • Unopened ready-to-eat cereals will maintain quality for six to 12 months. Opened cereals should be eaten within two to three months.
